As with all things, being prepared for your design session or consultation pays off, so take some time to brain-dump your thoughts prior to our time together. Here are four main things to consider:
1. Your Brief
What is the project scope? What are the most important elements of the project?
2. Look & Feel
How do you want your space to feel, what styles do you like? Sometimes telling us what you don’t like is also helpful. Include any imagery you have saved on Pinterest, Instagram or tear outs from magazines; architectural plans and materials you may like, etc. All help us to review and establish your desired look.
3. Timeline
Good design takes time. We like to sauté a bit and then add in some new ingredients! Although we can and do work on tight timelines it’s always best to allow us about 8 weeks to whip things up! Then there’s consideration of supply chain. Tiles and furnishings in most cases have 12-22 weeks lead times.
4. Budget
Writing a list of what is required to achieve your desired outcome and then placing $$ estimates next to it helps you to understand what this magical number might need to be.
